July 2, 2005 (Saturday) — Czech Republic day at the festival

It has gotten warmer and also a bit buggy. We had our concert this evening, so we weere conscious about conserving voices all day. After a lot of SA and TB rehearsals, we started putting the pieces together in huge SATB rehearsals. The Gentlemen SIngers of the Czech Republic sang the Czech National Anthem at lunch. Not sure what it has to do with the Czech Republic, but festival staff tied guys' hands together for lunch to see how they work together as a team. We had some time for hackysack and soccer before getting dressed for our concert. Our concert included the Kantorei from Illinois and the Gaudeamus men's chjoir from Latvia. The abbey has a lot of reverb and the concert went well. Lots of people gave us great compliments, saying we were far better than last year, which was already pretty good! The CVs nailed their two songs, and Troubadors showed off their unique sound.
