Ms. Echeverria is a Ph.D student in Classics at UC Berkeley, where she also received her MA in Latin. She has taught Latin and Greco-Roman civilization courses at Berkeley for the past 3 years, and won the university’s 2015 Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor award. She has also tutored, substitute taught, and run creative writing workshops for middle and high-school students throughout New York and the Bay Area for the past 10 years. Originally from New York City, Stefani did her BA in Classics and Gender Studies at CUNY Brooklyn. She is especially interested in Latin elegiac poetry, disability pedagogy, and increasing diversity in the field of Classics. In her free time Stefani enjoys writing creatively and playing with her chihuahua, Minima (Latin for “extremely small”).
