The Recording Academy has awarded the San Francisco Symphony recording of Mahler's Eighth Symphony for THREE Grammy awards: Best Classical Album, Best Choral Performance, and best Classical Engineering. Pacific Boychoir director Kevin Fox traveled to the Grammys to accept the awards for Best Choral Performance and Best Classical Album.
Michael Tilson Thomas
conducts this last recording in the Mahler symphony recording project. The
Pacific Boychoir joined forces with the San Francisco Girls Chorus
and the SF Symphony Chorus on the recording, made in
concerts in November 2008.
The CD includes the Adagio from Mahler's Symphony 10.
The
San Francisco Symphony's recording of Mahler's Third Symphony, including the PBA, won
the Grammy for Best Classical Album in 2004.

Harmonies of the Season
The Harmonies of the Season concerts have become a highlight of the holiday season in the Bay Area. The Pacific Boychoir singers are internationally renowned for rich and pure tone, bringing life and magic with them every time they sing. This concert features the boy soloists you've come to expect from the Pacific Boychoir, and Continuum, the Boychoir's polished, entertaining group of elite young tenors and basses.

PBA with the Marcus Shelby Jazz Orchestra at Yoshi'sIn April 2009, the Pacific Boychoir teamed up with the Marcus Shelby Jazz Orchestra in an unprecedented collaboration, creating a new, exciting sound for the music of Duke Ellington and Marcus Shelby himself. The collaboration continues this December with American jazz classics and original holiday arrangements by Marcus Shelby. The Pacific Boychoir becomes quite likely the first boys choir, or perhaps the first choir of any sort, to perform at Yoshi's famous jazz club at Jack London Square in Oakland.

NOVEMBER 27 & 29, 2009
PBA trebles Jack Lundquist, Henry Nelson, and Peter Kenton joined the SF Opera in 2007 as the Three Spirits in the Magic Flute. The boys can now be seen in a movie of the opera, and were also interviewed for the project. Created from San Francisco Opera's The Magic Flute for Families, the one hour movie is a perfect way for children to learn about the magic of opera. The SF Opera's Education department produced the movie version for Bay Area school and community programs. The performance is in English, with English subtitles and is recommended for ages 4-12.

Voices of America's FutureIn the difficult days following September 11, 2001, the clergy and music staff of Grace Cathedral sought an expression of unity and hope for the future of our young people. A concert bringing together local youth choirs, “Voices of America’s Future,” was a direct result. Grace Cathedral hosts this tradition and welcomes you to the ninth annual concert presented as part of the Daniel Pearl World Music Days. The PBA performs at this event for the first time since 2004.

Chabad Telethon 2009A group of boys heads to Los Angeles to join the "dancing rabbis" on the 2009 Chabad telethon. Last year's broadcast raised more than $8 million for Chabad, supporting the largest network of educational and nonsectarian social services under Jewish auspices on the West Coast. Countless people of all backgrounds and beliefs benefit from these community services -- whether it's a child who needs an education, a senior citizen who needs a friend, or an addict who needs a second chance. Over the last 28 years, the Telethon has helped Chabad forge a unique partnership with actors, musicians, athletes, civic leaders and corporate executives. Featuring star-studded lineups and the endearing "dancing rabbis," the Telethons are special events that have proven consistently popular with audiences. Past participants include Bob Dylan, Martin Sheen, Whoopi Goldberg, Adam Sandler, Dennis Franz, Anthony Hopkins, Howie Mandel, Jimmy Kimmel, Matisyahu, Edward James Olmos, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bernie Mac, and Mike Piazza. The casts of numerous television shows, including 'Friends' and 'Everyone Loves Raymond,' have also made appearances.
