We took at 3-hour flight to Dallas, then after a two-hour layover and a stop at Fuddruckers, we took our flight from Dallas to Sao Paulo. It was 6am when we arrived. We checked in to the Hotel, took naps and showers, and had lunch in the hotel. The hotel has a huge atrium. After lunch we had a chorale rehearsal in the VIP lounge on the 22nd floor of the hotel.
After some afternoon swimming and exercise, we had dinner then went to the Palmeiras-Fluminense game. Palmeiras (the Sao Paulo team) won handily, 3-0, over the Rio team. Our hotel concierge arranged for a bus that took us a special gate and we were escorted to our seats. The crowd all know various songs and chants that they sing together throughout the game. Here's an MPEG video of the aftermath of the final goal. I haven't figured out how to convert it to Quicktime yet, so it's 19MB.
In Dallas, we picked up a tour mascot, a bobblehead of Terrell Owens, the Cowboys' receiver. We take him everywhere and below you can see Terrell visiting various places along the way.
