August 28, 2006—Monday in São Paulo

It's my birthday, which actually started near the end of the concert last night. Our call time was not until 7pm, so we took off from the hotel and went to the Paulista mall (Paulista is the main business street in Sao Paulo, mostly banks it seems). They had apparently made some new futball jerseys since we were here last, so we snapped those up at the mall. We then headed to the park to find some open space and play. We had lunch at the hut next to the planetarium. Joao helped us order and the people kept giving us food. Over at the grassy area, there were lots of school kids running around. Devin had just bought a soccer ball and was kind enough to let everybody use it. Some locals came by and we invited them to play with us. About 4:45 we had to head back to the hotel for rest period and then dinner, then to the Sala for the evening's concert. The boys did a great job again, and we ran from the balcony to stage level after singing the last note for a bow. Tomorrow we're off to Rio.
