Our day starts early, meeting at SFO at 5:45, taking off from the very end of the terminal (gate 88). We had a short trip to Portland, OR where we caught our flight to Frankfurt from their new international terminal. While in Portland we did some academics during our layover at the last gate at the end of the terminal. Eleven hours later, we landed in Frankfurt where it was quite foggy. After some more academic time in the airport (at A42, the last gate in the terminal), we took a flight to Budapest. We found our bus and took a little time out in a park in Budapest since we had been indoors and on planes for so long. We got to our retreat center in Györ, had some pizza, and then to bed. Everybody was quite tired, but went to sleep happy, having arrived at our destination after a long journey.
