This was our first full rehearsal day. Hampton, Mr. Tarango and I went jogging at 7:30. It's in the low 60's during the day, so we had no idea it could be so cold in the morning, I'm guessing low 40's. We jogged about 2.5 miles and came back to thaw out. You can see in the photos that during the day it's not hot, but warm enough for shorts and T-shirts.
Breakfast is a light meal here, which was available from 8:30-9:00. After our morning rehearsals we had break where we played futbal (with the dogs of course). At lunch there happened to be some soldiers from the Argentine army who fly a helicopter. Pam made friends with them and asked them if they would bring the helicopter by in exchange for a song. We sang them a song, though the boys didn't know why. After rest period, the helicpoter came by, and though I've seen on movies the helicopters kicking up swirls of dust, I was surprised how much stuff gets blown around. They landed on the futbal field. We took a few photos, played some more futbal and ultimate frisbee, then some more rehearsal. At dinner we sang to Nicoli for his birthday. He says he feels a day older than yesterday. After dinner many watched a bit of the Argentina vs. Brasil futbal, which staretd at 10pm, apparently to avoid prime time TV in Brasil?!@
With some rest, the choir sang much better. We're able to clean up a lot of parts, and get more used to singing SATB, which is actually rare for us with only one hour a week of SATB time usually. Here, we get about 5 hours of SATB time a day. We're also fed very well. Breakfast is light, but lunch and dinner are both three-course events. There's lots of meat in general, though dinner was Italian-style: antipasto and gnocchi.
