June 23, 2008— from San Juan to Mendoza

San Juan can be very proud of their concert hall. They're also proud of their wine history, and this morning we got a tour of the Graffigna wine museum. After the tour, the 18-and-over crowd was given a wine-tasting lesson and everyone else started their appetizers, served by kind folks in black ties. We had some sort of freshly cooked meat in snadwiches for lunch, all courtesy of our new friends at the Mozarteum. We got many compliments not just on our singing, but on the boys' discpline and the professionalism of the organization, and this is the kind of thing we strive to convey to concert presenters around the world as we get better known.

After lunch, we hopped on the bus for the ride to Mendoza. We had journal time and some rest time, some glow sticks from the previous night, and then we're in Mendoza. Simply unloading 100 or so pieces of luggage and pouring ourselves into a tall hotel takes a while, but we do it as quickly and efficiently as we think is possibe.

Wifi in the lobby!

We gathered our laundry and then a TV crew showed up to do a promo piece for our vist. They interview me, we sing a song.

After some shopping time, we head to all-you-can-eat dinner. Everybody is happy because they can choose what they want and eat as much as they like.

Plenty of dogs still, but not as many as the previous places we've been.

Tomorrow we go to the mountains at the Chilean border. It's supposed to be no warmer than about 45F at the top.

Okay, now I'm caught up.
