September 25, 2007— from OAK to ORD

We hopped on a midday flight from Oakland to Las Vegas. Our PRN bag, with basically the same contents as what we took to Italy and Brasil, didn't pass Homeland Security, so Pam went back to check it. Turned out to work out okay.

We had a little less than two hours in Las Vegas, and we got some food. We took an afternoon flight to Chicago. The flight attendants have all been quite complimentary of the boys. It's obvious to me that we have a different group on tour than usual, different boys, and different size, and a different age group, but they maintain the same PBA reputation for gentlemanly conduct wherever they go.

Because of thunderstorms in Chicago, we were delayed getting in. By the time we got our luggage (and learned that Mr. Brown's garment bag had not made it), it was pretty late. Nonetheless, the boys were still wide awake since they were on west coast time. We found a Denny's near the hotel that we invaded at about midnight. We had a great time with the wait staff there, and a couple of ladies behind us even gave us a 20% discount coupon, which we used for our 22 orders. We went to the hotel and straight to bed.

Supposedly the Illinois Denny's have some battle going with the CA Denny's and so they wanted to show CA people coming to their Denny's
