Pacific Boychoir choristers learn an invaluable skill: teamwork. Boys of different ages, places, and backgrounds work together to accomplish extraordinary results. They tour the state, country, and world, and have the opportunity to sing with other accomplished performance groups.
The Pacific Boychoir's reputation for excellence has earned performances with the San Francisco Symphony and San Francisco Opera, the Moscow Chamber Orchestra, the UC Berkeley and Davis Symphonies, the American Bach Soloists, and many others. Our performances span Britten's War Requiem, Orff's Carmina Burana, Bizet's Carmen, and Mozart's The Magic Flute. The Pacific Boychoir is on a recording with the San Francisco Symphony that received a Grammy for Best Classical Album in 2004.
At the most fundamental level, PBA choristers have the opportunity to learn all about the art of music. They train their voices to create sophisticated, beautiful sound. They gain advanced knowledge of music theory, history, sight singing, and ear training. They participate in a variety of musical traditions, from classical to sacred to folk. They achieve the discipline necessary for participation in a professional choir.
