Former Head of School & Drama Teacher
edstrom@pacificboychoir.org

Bethany Edstrom joined the PBA faculty in 2017 as a Humanities teacher, and she took on the roles of Head of School and Director of Admissions in 2022. In addition to her administrative work, she teaches Latin in PBA’s middle school, directs the annual play, and advises our 8th graders and their parents as they plan their transition to high school. Bethany earned her B.A. in English at Dartmouth College and her M.F.A. in Creative Writing at the University of Arkansas, and her career includes three years as Director of Residential Life at Idyllwild Arts Academy in southern California, seven years as a high school English teacher and department chair, and five summers in various administrative roles at Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Talented Youth Summer Programs. Bethany loves the close, long-term relationships she is able to build with students and families at PBA, and she marvels at the way the choral education we offer builds students’ confidence and empowers them to embrace challenges in all aspects of their lives. Outside of work, Bethany is an avid reader and enjoys cooking, swimming, and writing fiction.
