Joe Imwalle is BPA’s Physical Education instructor. He sees PE as a great way to help kids develop joy, problem solving skills, self-confidence, cooperation, coordination, and healthy habits. He was a founding teacher at Learning Without Limits in the Fruitvale district where he taught 2nd and 3rd grade from 2007 – 2019. Since then he’s started “Learning With Joe” – a private tutoring business with a focus on online Spanish instruction for adults, as well as tutoring for children in all subjects. In 2021, he attained an MFA in Poetry from St Mary’s College of CA.
He plays synth in the ambient americana band, Aux Meadows. He likes to hike and cycle. He lives in the neighborhood with his wife, daughter, and beloved pets. Say hello if you see them on the Ave.
