Guided by PBA’s mission, the Board steers PBA towards a sustainable future by adopting sound governance and financial management policies, as well as by making sure the organization has adequate resources to advance its mission. Their primary duties are working on strategy, setting goals and objectives, overseeing programs and activities, and actively managing risks.

Liz Miles – President, Member of the Executive Committee/Task Force
Master Plan Manager, University of San Francisco
Liz Miles’ education focused on Strategic Planning, Project Management, Community Relations, graduating from the University of California and continuing on to complete her MBA from San Diego State University. Her work history includes Budget Director for Worcester Polytechnic University, the University of California Athletics as Business Manager, Fundraising, Sports Supervisor, Assistant Athletic Director, and most recently at the University of San Francisco as Master Plan Manager. Liz was also on the 1984 United States Olympic Rowing Team. Liz has a son in the PBA choir.
Carla Sakamoto Gordon – Secretary, Member of the Executive Committee/Task Force

Carla Gordon is the grandparent of a PBA alumni. She brings extensive experience with non-profit arts and educational organizations. Carla has the proven ability to facilitate new partnerships between non-profit organizations and businesses, community organizations, schools, and diverse publics. Recently, she has been responsible for project design and planning, funding and resource acquisitions, communications, marketing and public relations, and financial administration for arts organizations in Southern California.
Jennifer Siegel- Chief Financial Officer
Jennifer Siegel is a specialist in commercial real estate and has a background in renovation construction and residential rental property management. Her professional strengths are in financial analysis and strategic planning. Jennifer has a BA from Cornell University and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration at Presidio Graduate School. She has a son at the PBA day school and also studies choral music. She is currently serving as PBA’s Business Manager and CFO.
Michael McNeil –Board Member, Executive Director for PBA
Environmental/Energy Research Scientist, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
Dr. McNeil received a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from U.C. Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of California Santa Cruz. Dr. McNeil was named as the first Director of Berkeley Lab’s Mexico Energy Initiative, and co-developed and leads the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Energy Efficiency for Development Program, which provides technical assistance throughout the world. Michael has a son in the PBA day school.
Barbara Hamrick- Member of the Executive Committee/Task Force
Retired Registered Nurse and Entrepreneur.
Barbara Hamrick founded, operated, and sold four local businesses in the field of elder care, including two private duty home care agencies, a licensed home health agency, and a board and care home. She has served as board member of three non-profit organizations since 1995. Barbara is one of PBA’s most generous supporters. Barbara has been serving on the board since 2018.”
Marcia Roy- Board Member
Music Director & Founder, Pacific Boychoir Academy
Ms. Roy is a founding member of Pacific Boychoir Academy. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Music from California State University, Hayward, and has been the organist at Montclair Presbyterian Church in Oakland for over 20 years. Formerly, Ms. Roy served as choral conductor at Holy Names High School in Oakland and the San Francisco Girls Chorus. She has worked with professional boychoirs in the Bay Area for the past 25 years. Ms. Roy serves as school music instructor, assistant director of the Intermezzi group, vocal coach, and accompanist, and is also the Music Librarian for the PBA’s 500+ titles.
David Brega – Board Member
PBA Graduate, Pharmaceutical Consultant
David Brega joined the Pacific Boychoir Academy as a treble singer in 1999, and has stuck around ever since. He has stayed engaged as a camp counselor, tour chaperone, guest singer, and now board member. Professionally, he guides pharmaceutical companies through clinical trial data analysis and documentation for submission to the FDA. In his free time, he indulges in the love of travel instilled in him at PBA.
Kumani Armstrong- Board Member
Attorney
Kumani Armstrong serves as Special Counsel to the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations and has been with DIR since 2009. He consults with and provides legal and policy advice, interpretations, and opinions to the Director, Division Chiefs, investigative staff, and members of the public on a broad range of Division-specific legal issues, regulations, and statutory law. Prior to DIR, he worked in commercial litigation. He served as a Law Clerk for Retired United States District Judge Oliver W. Wanger and as a Staff Attorney to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He attended UCLA and UC Hastings College of the Law.
Jonathan Dunn – Board Member
Independent Schools Specialist
Jonathan Dunn is the Dean and College Counselor at Fairmont International School in Southern California. He is one of only 350 Certified Educational Planners in the world. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Classics from Oberlin College, a Master’s Degree in American History from the University of Southern California, a secondary clear credential from the School of Education at UCLA, and a College Counseling Certificate from the University of California San Diego. He is a member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association, and a member of the Western, National, and International Associations for College Admissions Counseling.
