International Tour
Summertime is Tour Time! For many choristers, International Tour is the highlight of their time in the choir, and the experience that they will most remember. Every year, our Day School Varsity Troubadors and High School choirs embark on an epic journey around the world. PBA has led tours for 25 years. Recent destinations have included Vietnam, Ireland, Ecuador and Northern Europe. Our trip to Spain in Summer 2023 marked the return of International Tour after COVID.
Tour gives our young musicians an opportunity to perform at festivals and concerts as a professional ensemble to enchant diverse audiences of music lovers, and to collaborate with world-class orchestral ensembles, soloists and local choral groups. For many of our parents, there is no greater thrill than to see their son at his best in grand venues around the world. Tour is much more than a musical experience. Through tour, young men gain independence and assume responsibilities – tour ‘jobs’ make everyone a contributor to the effort. In some ways, International Tour is the final step in our process of nurturing children to become responsible adults.
Domestic Tours
Tour is not just for the older choristers, however. Younger choristers also have the opportunity every year to participate in a shorter journey on the West Coast and throughout the United States. Domestic tour is not only an enriching experience in itself, but also an important stepping stone, building independence and responsibility on an adventure that is just a bit closer to home.
