The Pacific Boychoir Academy’s 8th Grade Graduation Tuesday, June 7, 2022 on the PBA Campus

On Tuesday, June 7, 2022, PBA celebrated the official end to the school year at its graduation ceremony. For the first time since 2019, we were able to allow extended family members and other guests to attend, and the front courtyard was full of happy people wishing our graduates well.

Annual PBA 8th Grade “End of Day School” Camping Trip
Mr. Leo took the 8th grade graduates on the annual PBA ‘End of Day School’ camping trip. This year they headed to Bodega Bay where they cooked, cleaned, made fires, swam in lagoons and played lots of kickball. Academic Dean Bethany Edstrom accompanied them and all had a great time.

Recap of Sorella’s Spring Season
Sorella had a wonderful season! The choristers sang in a joint performance with Mills College Choir on the Mills College campus, sang alongside other PBA after school choirs at the annual Spring Serenade and completed the season with a final rehearsal and choir awards on May 31. Chorister Highlight – Brett Colvin
Brett Colvin is a PBA 5th year chorister, starting in Prelude in September 2017 at age 4. He was in Prelude for 2 years, Minstrels for 1 year, Intermezzi (via Zoom) for 1 year, and then transferred to the day school training choir. Brett loves to sing and loves attending PBA. This past season, Brett participated in the PBA basketball team. Outside of PBA, Brett has been learning the Suzuki Method of playing the violin since October 2019. He is now in the second Suzuki book. Brett enjoys playing with friends, swimming, camping, and bike riding. He joined Cub Scouts when he was 5 in October 2018 as a Lion. He is now a Webelo. He plans to be an Eagle Scout and a Continuum singer one day.

Volunteer Highlight: Robert Ochiai

Robert Ochiai’s son, Ace-K, has been with PBA since September, 2019.  He started singing when he lived in Tokyo, Japan.  He was in the third grade when he started.  Singing was offered through his elementary school by his school’s music teacher.  He always wanted to be able to sing in English. PBA’s 2022 East Coast Tour!
This year’s PBA tour will last from June 28 to July 11, 2022.  It is the first tour in two years and will be one of the longest tours PBA choristers have taken in many years. They have performances scheduled over fourteen days in amazing venues in New York City, Philadelphia, Maryland, and Washington, DC. Tour highlights include historic sites, museums, and national monuments. View full itinerary…
